WALLPAPER
Manufactured in the UK, by Anstey wallpaper in Loughborough, Anstey is one of the oldest wallcovering printers in the country, with over 100 years of production under its belt.

Our wallpaper is printed using a surface printing technique called flexographic printing. This entails engraving wide rubber rollers much like you would a piece of lino, or woodblock, and leaving the relief that in turn picks up the ink and leaves a mark on the paper. It was important to remain true to the handprinted nature of the original designs and blocks, this particular method allows the rollers to pick up the small imperfections that would otherwise be lost using a different printing approach.

Much of the process entails working closely with craftspeople in the factory - all the colours that have been chosen were first tested with a colourist on a proofing machine, once finalised these colour recipes are then remixed by eye and by hand in much larger quantities before going to print on the bigger print machines. It is a truly amazing process to work with artisans at such a scale.

Sustainability
We are committed to taking responsibility for our activities and conserving our environment. We accomplish this through choosing non-toxic and responsibly sourced materials, as well as focusing on how our procedures may have the least amount of effect while maintaining design and quality. By using high-quality materials, we ensure that our products will last rather than encouraging a throwaway mentality. However, there is always more that can be done to ensure a sustainable future, therefore we will work to continuously learn and develop.

WALLPAPER
Our wallpapers are printed on eco-friendly paper with non-toxic organic pigments bonded with acrylic and vinyl co-polymers, calcium carbonate fillers, and waxes.

The wallpaper base is sourced entirely from FSC-certified vendors, and a "chain of custody" is maintained throughout the manufacturing process - this is the journey travelled by raw materials from the forest to the client, including all stages of processing, transportation, and distribution. The approach guarantees that all wood and paper products are certified at every step of production, ensuring traceability and identification throughout the manufacturing process.
